5 Best Things to do in San Antonio this Holiday

San Antonio is a city that has been welcoming visitors from all over the world for many years. It is one of the best cities in the world to visit and one of the most underrated cities in Texas.

The Holidays are here! What better way to spend time with family and friends than exploring the city?

San Antonio has a lot to offer this holiday season. Here are some of the best things to do in San Antonio to complete your holiday.

    1. Watch the Alamo Lights in San Antonio

In the heart of downtown San Antonio, the Alamo is the city's iconic symbol and a World Heritage Site. The Alamo is also home to one of the nation's best holiday light displays, a tradition that has been running since 1982.

The Alamo Lights Festival runs every year during Thanksgiving weekend and into December. This year's event will take place on November 24th through December 30th.

You can watch the lights starting at 6 pm each night from various locations around the city or purchase tickets to protect them from inside the Alamo itself.

If you're visiting during peak season, get there early to avoid lines and spend as much time as possible with your family. The lights are great for adults and kids alike, but make sure you bring some snacks for the adults too!

    2. Holiday Laser Show in San Antonio

The Holiday Laser Show is another great event to see holiday lights in San Antonio.

It is an annual event that takes place at the San Antonio Riverwalk. It's free to attend and includes a fantastic display of lights, music, and dancing during your visit!

The laser show starts at 9 pm so you can enjoy it all night! This year's show will feature more than 40,000 LED lights, making it one of the largest light shows in Texas history.

    3. San Antonio Art Market

The San Antonio Art Market is free, yes! Public access to the market is available, and admission is free. It is a family-friendly event that will fill the streets of downtown San Antonio with art lovers, artists, and enthusiasts.

The event will feature more than 300 juried artists selling their work to the public.

The event occurs rain or shine, but some businesses may close early due to inclement weather conditions.

    4. Experience the Santa’s Railroad Wonderland

Fun is the best way to get a child's attention, so bring your kids or other loved ones to enjoy Santa's Railroad Wonderland. It is a Christmas spectacle that includes train journeys.

The full-size train that travels a half mile and back is something that almost everyone wants to take. From the North Pole, Santa will also be making appearances and available for pictures.

    5. Love the River Walk Christmas Lights

Due to the countless lights on the bridges, trees, and buildings that border the river, the River Walk sparkles even more brightly during the holiday season.

The lighted boats, the lovely light reflections off the river, and the holiday music create a stunning atmosphere. Enjoy this time-honoured Texas holiday tradition by taking a stroll along the San Antonio River Walk throughout the holiday season.

Many things make San Antonio a great place to visit this holiday, but if you miss it, prepare for the next event in advance.
