3. Visit The National Aviary

The National Aviary is the country's only independent indoor non-profit aviary, located in Pittsburgh. It is also the country's largest aviary and the only one with honorary "National" status from the US Congress.

You can see over 500 birds from more than 150 species all over the world,  many of which are threatened or endangered in the wild. This is another fun summer thing to do in Pittsburgh that you can’t miss. 

The National Aviary, as well as a walk-through habitat where you can get up close and personal with the birds as they fly above you. There are even opportunities to feed some birds by hand. The National Aviary also houses the Department of Conservation & Field Research, which conducts conservation and biodiversity research on the effects of the human population on birds and the environment.

4. Witness the Pittsburgh Fireworks

This should be at the top of your list of fun things to do in Pittsburgh this summer. On July 4th, the City of Pittsburgh's Independence Day celebration returns to the Point.
