Who doesn’t love a cool cocktail on a warm summer day sitting by beautiful blue water? We are so excited to tell you about a new favorite on our list of “best L.A. spots” to sip & savor the summer. We really love DTLA. Whether you live or visit the area, you’ve got to try the amazing rooftop bar at Pilot. It’s located on the rooftop of the Hoxton hotel. As soon as you get a glimpse of the outdoor space, you’ll understand why we’re sending you. It’s the perfect mix of upscale, chill, beach, and summer.

The bar surrounds the hotel’s pool deck and offers amazing panoramic views of the downtown skyline. It’s worth the trip just to savor the views. (There’s something about sitting in stillness in the middle of a bustling downtown that’s amazingly serene!) 

The food and drinks are out of this world. Inspired by the Meditteranean coast, you’ll be hard-pressed to find anything more fresh or delicious. Don’t know what to order? Trust their recommendations. And try their ever-changing drink of the day. You won’t go wrong. Wear your favorite crop top! Pro Tip: Grab a reservation on Resy to take the stress off, guaranteeing you the perfect spot at a perfect time.

OK, so we must admit... we are usually pretty snobbish about visiting and recommending only locally-owned places. However, we're going to make a rare exception here. You'll understand why when you visit the rooftop of Mama Shelter in Hollywood. I mean, it just reeks of the perfect summer hangout.

Located just blocks away from the amazing boutiques of Hollywood (or the Walk of Fame if you're visiting from out of town), the staff & atmosphere of this cocktail bar will embrace you and invite you to have some fun.  Once you're up on the rooftop, you'll be blown away by the sweeping views of Hollywood. It's truly a stunning spot. 

The space is bright and happy with multicolored lounge furniture covering the space. Creative cocktails from the bar team and exquisite food offerings from the Executive Chef flow freely and do not disappoint. DJs spin music that invites you to dance. Outdoor movies play that invite you to relax. Foosball tables invite you to have a little fun.Pro Trip: Try the Moscow Mules and Sangrias!!!! A perfect place to wear your favorite stylish t-shirt.

There is nothing that makes us happier in the summer than cocktails on the beach. I mean, can you blame us? If you are looking for the PERFECT spot to  watch the waves crash in while sipping on your favorite summer drink, you've got to try Elephante. Located in beautiful Santa Monica, the bar is perfectly situated to give you pristine views of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Beach.

The buzzing rooftop bar and restaurant is from seasoned designer and restauranteur Nicholas Mathers. His goal was to bring in the best of the Mediterranean to guests through the food, drinks, and decor of Elephante. In our opinion, he succeeded at his goal 100%.  The place is absolutely perfect. You'll notice the attention to detail from the time you sit down. The natural wood, stone, and copper finishes bring an upscale feeling of tranquility and style that you will find enjoyable and interesting.

The menu at Elephante is perfection too. Find the perfect Italian-inspired shaken cocktail, stirred cocktail, draft cocktail, or classic cocktail. Savor a wide variety of wines, by the bottle or glass. Make sure to save room for food. Elephante is so much more than a bar; it's a full-service restaurant!  Whether you order a collection of small plates or dive-in for a main plate, you will not be disappointed.

Whether you're visiting Elephante Beach House for a night out or an afternoon of relaxation, you will leave happy and relaxed. Grab your hoodie. Buon appetito! 

Sometimes you just want to go to a place that feels more like your friend's backyard where you don't have to dress up, impress, or overpay.  Grab your favorite hoodie,  city shirt, and friends and head on over to Idle Hour in NoHo. You can't miss it... just look for the big barrel-shaped building. As they say: "There's nothing better than drinking .... inside the barrel." 

Now an official L.A. historical landmark, the space is iconic, memorable, and charming. With wood-planked ceilings and walls, the place is marked by character and chill.  We 100% recommend the outdoor patio. Centered around a beautiful and perfectly-lit ficus tree, it's quite a mesmerizing yet lively space.

The drinks are delicious and diverse. Check out a wide-range of classic and creative cocktails (we recommend the Old Fashioned!), great drafts, and amazing wines. Enjoy unique spins on classic, cozy bar food reminiscent of the historical era of the space itself (The Barrel Burger and the Smoked Meatloaf Melt = amazing!) . 

Pop in for a drink or stay for dinner.... come as you are and leave happy!
